Where is your wallpaper printed?

Every GrimmRose Cottage wallpaper order is printed in-house in my own studio in Alberta, Canada. Keeping production in-house means I oversee each order from printing through to cutting and packaging, so I can check print quality, colour, panel alignment, and sizing before it leaves my studio.

Unlike print-on-demand production, where designs are sent to a third-party printer for fulfillment, your wallpaper is made and checked by me from start to finish.

Where do your designs come from?

GrimmRose Cottage is a mix of original design and curated artwork. Some designs are created by me from start to finish, while others begin with artwork or design elements that I commercially license and transform into finished wallpaper and wall décor.

Every design is selected, composed, coloured, scaled and prepared specifically for the GrimmRose Cottage collection, with a focus on creating pieces that feel a little unexpected and full of story.

Wallpaper & Materials

1. What's the difference between Matte and Textured wallpaper?

Our Matte finish has a smooth, understated appearance that allows the colours and details of the artwork to shine. Our Textured finish features a subtle canvas-like surface that adds depth and character to your walls.

Both finishes are printed in-house, and we recommend ordering samples to find your favourite.

2. How long does peel-and-stick wallpaper last?

Our wallpaper is designed for long-term interior decorating. With proper installation and care, it can remain beautiful for years. Longevity depends on wall preparation, environmental conditions and everyday wear.

3. Is your wallpaper washable?

Our Textured finish features a water-resistant surface, making it suitable for gentle cleaning. For everyday care, use a soft, lightly damp cloth and avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive sponges or vigorous scrubbing.

For Matte wallpaper, we recommend gentle dusting with a soft, dry cloth and carefully testing a lightly damp cloth in an inconspicuous area if needed.

4. Is your wallpaper durable?

Yes! Both finishes are designed for interior wall decoration. Our Textured finish offers excellent material water resistance, while Matte provides a smooth decorative surface. As with any wallcovering, avoid sharp objects, repeated abrasion and excessive moisture.

5. Can I use peel-and-stick wallpaper in a bathroom or kitchen?

Our wallpaper may be suitable for well-ventilated bathrooms and kitchens, provided it's installed away from direct water exposure, excessive heat and persistent moisture. We don't recommend installing it inside showers or directly behind stovetops.

Installation & Removal

6. Is peel-and-stick wallpaper difficult to install?

Not at all! Our wallpaper is designed for DIY installation, with no paste or special equipment required. Each order includes installation instructions and a squeegee to help you achieve a smooth finish.

7. Will peel-and-stick wallpaper damage my walls?

Our wallpaper is designed to be removable from properly prepared, smooth, painted walls. However, removal results depend on the condition of your paint and wall surface. We recommend testing a sample before installation, as damage-free removal cannot be guaranteed.

8. Can I reposition wallpaper during installation?

Yes! Our wallpaper allows for adjustments during installation. If a panel isn't aligned correctly, carefully lift and reposition it before firmly smoothing it into place. Avoid repeatedly stretching or pulling the material.

9. Can peel-and-stick wallpaper be installed on textured walls?

We recommend installing wallpaper on smooth, clean, dry and properly painted surfaces. Textured walls can interfere with adhesion and may cause lifting or peeling. If you're unsure about your wall, we recommend testing a sample first.

10. Can I install wallpaper over freshly painted walls?

Fresh paint needs time to cure before wallpaper installation. We recommend waiting at least two weeks, or longer if advised by the paint manufacturer. Make sure the surface is fully cured, clean and dry before applying wallpaper.

11. What if I get bubbles during installation?

Small air bubbles can often be worked toward the nearest edge using the included squeegee. We recommend peeling away the backing gradually, working in small sections and smoothing as you go.

12. Will the seams between wallpaper panels be visible?

Our wallpaper panels are designed with a slight overlap to create a continuous pattern. A subtle seam may be visible depending on lighting, wall conditions and installation. Carefully matching the design and following our instructions will help achieve the best result.

13. Can I remove the wallpaper when I'm ready for a change?

Yes. Our wallpaper is designed to be removable. Start at a corner and slowly peel it back at a low angle, taking care not to pull away the underlying paint. Ease of removal depends on the wall surface, paint condition and length of installation.

Ordering & Samples

14. How do I know how much wallpaper to order?

Measure the width and height of your wall and enter the measurements into our wallpaper calculator. We recommend adding 2–3 inches to your measurements to allow for trimming and uneven surfaces. The calculator will help determine how many panels you need.

15. Should I order a sample before purchasing?

Absolutely! Samples allow you to see the true colours, print quality and finish in your own space. They're also a great way to test adhesion on your wall before committing to a larger project.

16. Will the wallpaper colours match what I see online?

We do our best to represent our designs accurately, but colours can vary depending on screen settings and lighting. We recommend ordering a sample to see how the design looks in your home throughout the day.

17. Can I order more wallpaper if I run short?

Yes, additional panels can be ordered. However, we recommend purchasing all the wallpaper needed for your project at once. Slight colour variations can occur between print runs, and ordering together helps maintain consistency.

18. Why is premium peel-and-stick wallpaper more expensive?

Our wallpaper is printed in-house in Canada, with careful attention to colour, detail and finishing. Each order is made specifically for your project rather than pulled from mass-produced inventory. We focus on distinctive designs, quality materials and a personal shopping experience.

19. Can I return my wallpaper if I change my mind?

Because every wallpaper order is printed specifically for you, we don't accept returns for change of mind. We strongly recommend ordering samples before purchasing. If there's an issue with your order, please reach out so we can help.
